Barrowburn camping barn is a "stone tent" which provides basic accommodation for up to 17 people.

Formerly a school built in 1879, it is situated at map reference NT 869108 among breathtaking scenery in the Cheviot Hills amidst numerous walks and bridleways and challenging Mountain Bike trails up to the high Border Ridge and beyond. Far away from electricity, lighting is provided by modern wall-mounted gas lamps.

Best of all, there is a cosy coal fire-with coal provided at no extra cost-in the large main room. Sleeping is on raised wooden platforms.In the kitchen, there is a 4 burner gas cooker, and a sink and drainer with hot water.There are W.C.`s and washing areas-with cold water only.Access is by car, 5 miles west of Alwinton along the Coquet Valley road, then turn right before the telephone box and pass Barrowburn farm, over the little ford, and up the hill for 150 yards. There is space to park 3 cars at the door. 

You would need to bring;

a sleeping bag and mat,cutlery,
plate and mug,
matches,
firelighters,
bin bag,
and a torch.

Price is £80 per night for sole occupancy of the barn, or £10 per person per night for parties less than 8.There is space behind the barn for up to 6 small tents. Campers may use the toilets. Price is £5 per tent.
